Anatomy of an Agitation - 100 protestors, 4 cops and thousands of silent victims
It is 3 in the morning in Mumbai and I reached home minutes ago after being stranded on the highway for 3 hours. A handful of sikhs had blockaded the main highway with boulders. They were weilding swords, canes and axes and shouting slogans praising Khalsa. No one knew what they were protesting against. The equation was amazing - about a hundred agitators, 4 cops looking on helplessly and thousands of people like me suffering silently. The radio in my car gave out no news. I am frustrated, tired and angry. Why do we have police?
