I am neither an astrologer nor a crystal gazer but I am going to risk a prediction on the outcome of today’s IPL game between Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals, the weakest team on paper, has had a dream run so far, winning all but 2 out of their 14 games. But the form (another word for fortune) has to change. This is the inevitable law of averages from which there is no escape. The emphatic drubbing they suffered recently at the hands of Priety’s Boys will weigh heavily on their minds as they take the field today. 

Delhi Daredevils on the other hand owe their presence in the semi- finals to another lady, Dame Fortune, who smiled on them during the game between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians had the game literally in their hands on the last ball, yet they fumbled and gifted an impossible win to Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals will rue that victory today. Delhi Daredevils will defeat them, I suspect rather comfortably, and may even go on to win the finals. 

I want Rajasthan Royals to win, for they have been refreshingly different from the remaining 7 teams. Shane Warne’s leadership is slowly becoming the legend of B-schools. But alas! They will lose today, for that is the way the loaded dice rolls in life. Cricket, the game that mirrors life cannot be very different.
